Sonya Whitworth, Managing Director of BTL, has been named as a finalist in this year’s Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
Sonya is one of 22 named finalists in the ‘Female Executive of the Year – Business Products – 11-2,500 Employees’ category, and the only finalist in this category based solely in the UK.
This achievement recognises the positive impact that Sonya has made at BTL since joining as a project manager in 2003, right up to her current role as Managing Director.
Colleagues around the business continue to praise Sonya’s work, and her determination to make a difference in everything she does. Sonya is not only strong on the operational and financial sides of the business, she also recognises the strengths of her colleagues and brings people together, inspiring colleagues and actively encouraging them to reach their ambitions.
Sonya is an inspirational leader who has driven BTL through enormous growth in recent years and is extremely deserving of being a Stevie Award for Women in Business finalist.
Sonya learned she was a finalist for the award during the closing remarks at the Surpass Conference this year, where she was congratulated by colleagues and members of the Surpass Community who were all delighted for her success.
On becoming a finalist, Sonya commented:
‘This is a great honour, but to be honest this is about the success of BTL as much as anything. I am only able to do my role in the way that I do because I am supported so well by the rest of the organisation and all colleagues. The team at BTL are incredibly committed, talented and culturally aligned, so it makes it easy to lead, and BTL is the success it is today because of the fantastic people that work there.
Being announced as a finalist is already a fantastic achievement, but we’re sure you’ll join us in wishing Sonya the best of luck when winners of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards are announced at a ceremony in November. You can view a full list of finalists here.
Well done Sonya!
