The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) has announced that computer based assessments will be central to its revised qualification, due to be launched in July 2010.

The AAT has been using BTL’s Surpass e-Assessment solution to deliver exams for a while now, whilst also offering the option of a paper based exam. The decision to phase out the paper based exams with the former qualifications was announced at the AAT annual conference for training providers, held in April 2010.

The AAT e-Assessments are the most innovative and relevant accounting exams currently available – the exam questions replicate work-based scenarios faced by accounting technicians. The flexibility of the e-Assessment system means that students can sit an exam at any time and they no longer have to wait 10 weeks to receive their results as provisional results are provided instantly upon completion of the exam. To aid familiarity with the e-Assessment system, students can access free practice exams via the AAT website at any time.
