As another year draws to a close, we reflect on what has happened in the assessment industry, and in particular within the Surpass Community.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the end of 2019 without the popular, annual ‘Year in Assessment’ round up video, so why not take a break, grab a hot tea or coffee, and watch our highlights of 2019.
This, alongside national news reports sharing voices of teachers and students have shown that with the right team in place, testing can be used to positively encourage children to learn, and afford teachers more time to teach!
Other highlights from the conference included Alice Niezborala’s live demo of ProctorExam – remote invigilation software, and Paul Eeles from The Skills and Education Group walking us through a case study involving the MOT assessors’ qualification.
2019 has also been a great year for the assessment industry recognising the achievements of the Surpass Community in award nominations. NCFE CACHE and telc gGmbH were finalists in their respective categories at this year’s e-Assessment Awards, and EAL took home the ‘Qualification of the Year’ award at the FAB Awards. If there are any more nominations out there that we haven’t mentioned, then please do share them with us so we can help you share the great news!
BTL and the Surpass team have also been celebrating both locally and internationally – Sonya Whitworth was announced as a Silver Award Winner at the international Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and Patrick Butlin was a finalist for ‘Apprentice of the Year’ at the Bradford Means Business awards. As a company, BTL was recognised for international growth in The Sunday Times WorldFirst SME Export Track 100, coming in at number 47.
