Tools for the Learning Journey
The Learning Journey is an approach that takes a learner through a set of processes that will help them achieve a qualification, pass a test, or satisfy a need in their learning.
At each stage of the Learning Journey, there is a different tool to help a tutor to choose the most apt course or direction for the progression of a learner. The names that BTL use to refer to the tools and stages of the Learning Journey reflect those set out by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES).
The tools of the Learning Journey are designed to be beneficial to both the tutor and the learner. BTL have developed the necessary understanding, in conjunction with intelligently and practically designed tools, to make sure that learner needs are accurately diagnosed and appropriately met. For example, the algorithm in BTL's Initial Assessments has been developed with great consideration, over time, to be adaptive and provide greater, immediate insight into a learner's abilities.

Initial Assessment
Having ascertained that your course is the correct one for your learners, what level are they? Diagnostic Assessment
